Light plays a crucial role in the still-lives of Italian fine artist Riccardo Evangelisti (1971). Evangelisti is extremely interested in the classic traditions of the art of painting and the work of Italian Old Master Caravaggio was an important point of reference throughout his development. Because his father was a gallery owner Evangelisti became acquainted with the art world at an early age. He also met artists that really went on to inspire him. Evangelisti has developed into an exceptionally skilled fine painter under the guidance of the Italian Old Master of hyperrealism Luciano Ventrone. The strong contrast between illuminated fragments and shaded areas intensify the perception of his masterly painted compositions. His exceptionally realistic work grabs the viewer’s attention immediately. The artist puts great value on the first impression the viewer experiences when seeing his work because when a still-life really touches the viewer they discover a universe of infinite minor details that remain invisible to others.
